The Strathmartine Trust offers a three-year scholarship for support of a PhD candidate in a subject related to Scottish History, which is awarded for study in the University of St Andrews.

The Strathmartine Scholarship was first awarded in September 2015 to Morag Allan Campbell (above) for her thesis on ‘This distressing malady’: Madness and childbirth in nineteenth century Scotland.
The scholarship was awarded for the second time in September 2018, supporting the study of Daniel Leaver towards a PhD provisionally entitled The Politics of Oil in Scotland’s 1970s.
