New Strathmartine Award: The Harry Bryce School Fund

The Strathmartine Trust is delighted to announce that we will soon be opening a new fund for grant applications, thanks to a generous bequest from the Bryce family.

Named after Harry Bryce, the aim of this new award is to promote Scottish History within primary and secondary schools, with grants of up to £1500 available for schools themselves or other organisations such as museums engaged in outreach programmes. The Strathmartine Trust is particularly keen to receive applications from those establishments experiencing financial difficulties in facilitating Scottish History provision.

Harry Bryce was a dedicated teacher who spent his career encouraging young people to explore and learn, and this fund is dedicated to his memory. Chair of the trustees, Professor Roger Mason says: “We at the Strathmartine Trust are immensely grateful to the Bryce family for this remarkably generous donation and look forward to promoting the teaching and learning of Scottish history in accordance with their wishes”.

Full details about the award, and how to apply, will follow in due course.
