The aim of the Harry Bryce Award is to foster enthusiasm for, and engagement with, Scottish history among young people. Grants of up to £500 are available to state schools and other organisations (such as museums, libraries, archives or community history groups), that deliver activities and programmes designed for children and young people.
Eligibility
Applications may be submitted by individuals on behalf of a school or organisation, provided that:
- The proposed project or activity offers meaningful, structured engagement for young people with Scottish history; this is a broad term and could include the histories of Scottish people abroad as well as imperial or colonial aspects of Scotland’s past
- The project or activity is offered free of charge to all participants, and no profit is generated by the organiser or any associated body

Timeline
Applications may be submitted at any time but the project must begin between 3 and 12 months after the application is submitted.
Trustees will review each application as it is received and aim to provide a decision within one month.
