Trustee news

The Strathmartine Trust is delighted to announce that three new Trustees have been appointed to the board. Mrs Leslie Bryce, Professor Hector MacQueen, and Dr Fiona Watson have agreed to serve as Trustees following the recruitment process held over the summer. Our three new Trustees attended their first meeting on 5 November.

At the same meeting, Dr Barbara Crawford retired as Chairman, handing over the reins to Professor Roger Mason. As well as Dr Crawford, two other long-standing members of the board stood down, Dr Margaret Mackay and Professor David Swinfen. All three were heartily thanked for their outstanding service to the Trust. Dr Crawford, indeed, had been the sole remaining representative of the founding Trustees, having served on the Trust since its foundation in 1999. In recognition of her unparalleled contribution to the work of the Trust, the board room has been renamed ‘The Barbara Crawford Board Room’.

Further new Trustees will be appointed during 2025 in pursuance of the Trust’s decision to enlarge and renew the board, reorganise its administrative structure, and to expand and refresh its portfolio of activities.
